Global Business Company
A Global Business Company (“GBC”) is an entity established under the Companies Act 2001 and the Financial Services Act 2007.
A GBC is set up to carry out a major part of its business outside of Mauritius. Nonetheless, it is considered to be tax resident in Mauritius if its place of effective management is deemed to be in Mauritius. The GBC is normally taxed at the flat rate of 15%. However, some of its income may be partially exempted up to 80% of its value, leading to an effective tax rate of 3% on such income. The GBC may also claim credit for foreign taxes suffered on its income.
A GBC is eligible to claim benefits under the various tax treaties signed by Mauritius.

Authorised Company
The Authorised Company regime was introduced in Mauritius following the enactment of the Finance Act 2018. An Authorised Company can only carry out business activities outside of Mauritius and its place of effective management must be outside of Mauritius.
It is required to file an annual return of income with the Mauritius Revenue Authority but it is not deemed to be tax resident in Mauritius as long as it demonstrates that its place of effective management is outside of Mauritius.

Trust
A trust is a fiduciary relationship created at the direction of a settlor, in which the trustee(s), holdscertain property subject to certain duties of use and protection for the benefit of others.
The law which regulates trusts in Mauritius is the Trust Act 2001.
Being the holder of a Management Company licence, AMG is authorized by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius to act as Qualified Trustee for trusts settled in Mauritius.
